Male Depression Due To Job Stress

Depression is a problem, which is faced, by most of the people worldwide. Though the statistics show that women are the most affected by this problem, reality bites. In reality men are more vulnerable to depression because of various factors. It is just the lack of diagnosed results that come to the limelight.

Men tend to have the attitude that nothing can deter them and they are strong enough to face such problems. However, this negligence in the long term aggravates the problem and makes it a chronic problem. Thus, nowadays the problem of male depression stands as a different category of depression as it needs special attention.

Men tend to hide their problems from health care specialists because of the overconfidence that, they can tackle the problem themselves. There are many factors, which cause male depression. One of the most prominent causes of male depression is job stress.

Job Stress as a factor of male depression
Apart from various other factors, job stress is the major factor from which most of the males in this world suffer. Males always have the responsibility of running a family and various other moral as well as professional responsibilities.

Though now the trend has changed in the sense that, even females are also contributing to the family's stock. The males always have to lead in situations. Hence, job stress becomes a very important factor behind male depression. There are some of the factors related to job, which causes this stress and consequently leads to depression.

The first and foremost problem that arises in a job is the performance stress. The person here is stressed time and again to give a better performance. He is often compared with others. This leads to mental depression and consequently male depression state. Another factor is the petty conflicts that arise amongst colleagues. Though, it is a very small and stupid reason to get depressed.

Prolonged conflicts with co-workers create a lot of tension and make the environment unsuitable for the person to work. Constant thinking and pondering over these conflicts lead to the same problem of male depression. Many a time it also happens that doing night shift and excessive overwork leads to mental overstressing and thus consequently leading to mental depression.

Conclusion
So, these were some of the major job-related factors that play a vital role in causing the problem of male depression in men. However, there are other trivial things also that contribute to the same.
